Arkema successfully launches its 15% PVDF production capacity expansion in North America

The PVDF capacity expansion in Calvert City, Kentucky, further strengthens the Group's leading position in the global PVDF market. Backed by an investment of approximately USD 20 million, the project is designed to meet the increasing demand from energy storage systems, semiconductor manufacturing, and the fast-growing data centre sector.

Announced in February 2025, the investment was completed on schedule and within the original budget, highlighting Arkema's strong project management and disciplined execution capabilities while supporting customer growth initiatives. The additional capacity further strengthens Arkema's leadership position in the U.S. PVDF market and enhances its ability to serve rapidly expanding industries driven by global energy transition and digitalisation trends. In particular, the expansion will support rising demand for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems (ESS), the rapid growth of data centres and related cable infrastructure, as well as increasing requirements from the semiconductor industry.

In addition, Arkema has announced a further 20% expansion of its PVDF production capacity in China, which will come online in 2028. With manufacturing facilities strategically located across North America, Europe, and Asia, Arkema is well positioned to meet growing global demand while ensuring a resilient and dependable supply network worldwide.
