Adient (NYSE: ADNT), a global leader in automotive seating, announced today that it has extended its operations by acquiring a foam production factory in Romulus, Michigan.

The plant, which manufactures foam for seats for several automakers, joins Adient's network of ten foam plants in the Americas. Globally, the corporation operates 30 foam manufacturing units.

Adient purchased the factory from Woodbridge, an automobile supplier. The arrangement covered the purchase of the existing building and land, as well as production equipment, inventory, and other assets. Employees currently employed at the plant will join Adient. The collective bargaining agreement with the UAW will continue in effect.

"We are delighted to welcome the Romulus staff to the Adient family and to add this significant facility to our portfolio. "Our global scale and expertise in automotive seating make this acquisition beneficial to our customers as well," said Jim Conklin, Adient's executive vice president of Americas.

Adient's strategic growth plan continues with the installation of the Romulus foam factory, solidifying its position as a preferred supplier and employment.
