Covestro LLC is Investing $40 Million in its Pittsburgh Headquarters

Covestro LLC is investing over $40 million to modernize its 9-building Pittsburgh headquarters, home to 700 employees since 1958. This site serves as the North American business headquarters and one of Covestro’s three global R&D hubs.

Covestro is renovating its polyurethane R&D facilities, creating state-of-the-art labs, upgrading equipment for key industries like automotive and construction, and modernizing office spaces to enhance collaboration. The campus will also be refreshed to reflect the company’s mission to make the world a brighter place.

This represents the largest R&D investment in our facilities in Pittsburgh for decades. We recognize that our employees and our customers are two of our most important stakeholders, and, through this investment, we can positively impact them both

Given that the construction industry accounts for nearly 20% of Covestro’s business, the company integrated its own materials and customers’ products into many aspects of the campus retrofit, including roofing insulation and interior and exterior paints.
